- ½ cup catsup
- 1 tsp. salt
- ½ cup white vinegar
- ½ tsp. pepper
- 2 T. brown sugar
- 2 garlic cloves, pressed
- 2 T. Worcestershire sauce
- 1 T. lemon juice
- ½ tsp. or less Tabasco sauce
Instructions
- Cut 2 lbs. venison into 1 ½ - 1 inch cubes and brown in bacon grease.
- Make barbeque sauce as follows:
- Slice onions into rings, cut in half and cook in bacon grease before adding to remainder of sauce ingredients.
- Bring sauce to a boil and simmer for 20 minutes.
- Stir in venison cubes, cover and cook at low heat about one hour or until tender.
- Sauce will thicken so add water while cooking, if needed.
- Makes good hors d’oeuvres served in hot chafing dish.
- Mixture or sauce alone can be served over rice or egg noodles.
- Sauce can be made in large quantities, but reduce Tabasco to taste.
