Michigan hunting season
Michigans DNR reminds hunters that the 2012 muzzleloader season for deer opened Yesterday in Zone 1 (UP) and Zone 3 (southern zone). The season is open for 10 days in zone 1 and for 17 days in zone 3.
The 2012 muzzleloader season starts next Friday Dec 14th in Zone 2 (northern Lower Zone) and runs for 9 days.
Hunters must have a current unused firearm license. This consists of of one of four types of licenses
1) Firearm deer license (youth and mentor license included)
2) Combination deer license
3) Antlerless deer license
All other deer hunting rules remain in effect
A reminder for hunters using a crossbow: you can only hunt with a certified disability to use a crossbow or a modified bow during the muzzleloader season in the UP only.
